Thousands of local authority and National Health Service staff are to be merged under plans for the integration of adult social care, community healthcare and children's services.

Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Partnership NHS Trust became responsible for adult social and community healthcare within Staffordshire and all community healthcare in Stoke-on-Trent from 1 April, delivering a wide range of services, from physiotherapy to day care.
