An influential group of MPs has called for the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) to be given a broader role over social and integrated care.

A report by the Commons' health select committee, published on 16 January, states there is a ‘real opportunity' for the health watchdog to help create a ‘different model of care' when it takes over its new responsibilities in April.
