The directly-elected mayor of Bristol and a panel of council party group leaders are unanimously proposing Nicola Yates for the new top job at Bristol City Council as city director.

Replacing the former chief executive role, this new post is the professional head of the staff at the city council, and 'will be responsible for the delivery of the mayor and council's vision', according to the council.
