New Local Government Network head of external affairs, Liam Scott Smith, is leaving the think- tank to join iMPOWER Consulting as its head of communications. He leaves after two and half years with the organisation.

NLGN's director Simon Parker thanked Mr Scott-Smith for his service, saying: 'Liam has played a vitally important role in reshaping NLGN for the age of austerity.
