The local authority owned shared services group LGSS has announced a new contract with Northampton BC.

The five-year deal will see LGSS provide HR, finance and other back office services for Northampton BC.

As part of the agreement, more than 230 Northampton BC staff have transferred over to join the 1,200 strong workforce at LGSS.

LGSS was formed as a partnership in 2010 between Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire CCs.

‘We are delighted to welcome Northampton BC as a new partner of LGSS,' said managing director, John Kane.

‘This strategic partnership will add significant new expertise, capacity and capability into LGSS, which will help us to progress both our growth and savings objectives and will help Northampton BC achieve significant savings over the next five years.'
