A delegation from the Buskerud region of Norway visited the Yorkshire and Humber region last month, to learn about the way that the region organises its regional development.
Busterud, south west of Oslo, is one of Norway's 19 counties, which has rural market towns and relies on agriculture and tourism to boost the economy. The mountainous Hallingdal area is the second largest tourist attraction in the country. The 11 visitors were members of the standing committee on regional development, and they are interested in understanding different methods of involving both businesses and communities in the development process.
