Nottingham City Council chiefs have seemingly relented over the authority's previous refusal to comply with Government financial transparency thresholds.

Since last January Nottingham had been alone among all English authorities in failing to comply with the requirement to publish details of all spending worth £500 or more – leading to public spats between council leaders and government ministers.
