Nuclear plans top list of spending concerns

Spending experts have expressed concerns over the progress of large-scale, high-risk government procurement projects worth £90bn.

Spending experts have expressed concerns over the progress of large-scale, high-risk government procurement projects worth £90bn, including local nuclear power programmes and the introduction of the Universal Credit.

Responsibility for overseeing a portfolio of 205 procurement schemes worth £376bn was last year assigned to the Major Projects Authority (MPA), collaboration between the Cabinet Office and the Treasury.
