Young people are deeply rooted in their local neighbourhoods and should be encouraged to help develop community services – analysis by the New Local Government Network (NLGN) has revealed.

Produced in response to media concern over a moral decline among young people, in the aftermath of the August 2011 riots, the research paper – which drew on all available long-term data – suggests the emerging generation of young people is more conservative and strait-laced than their predecessors.
