Ofsted wants new adoption checks to put children first

Ofsted has launched a consultation on proposed changes for the inspection of adoption and fostering agencies.

Ofsted has launched a consultation on proposed changes for the inspection of adoption and fostering agencies, following the introduction in April of new national minimum standards and statutory guidance.

To gain as true a picture of service provision as possible, the childcare regulator wants to slash advance notification of inspection from eight weeks for adoption agencies and six weeks for fostering agencies to ten working days.
