Education regulators Ofsted have put out for consultation proposals to conduct shorter but more frequent inspections of schools and colleges already deemed good.

The watchdog claims the planned reforms would be the most radical shake up of schools inspections in a quarter of a century and speed up the improvement of educational standards in England.
