A director of children’s services has suggested a ‘risk-averse’ Ofsted is giving ‘inadequate’ judgements to avoid being criticised later.

A director of children's services has suggested a ‘risk-averse' Ofsted is giving ‘inadequate' judgements to avoid being criticised later.

The director, who asked not to be named, was speaking after children's services departments at Lambeth LBC, Cumbria CC and West Berkshire Council were labelled inadequate within a week.
