OFT fears spark probe into private healthcare market

A full Competition Commission (CC) investigation into the £5bn private healthcare sector has come one step closer.

A full Competition Commission (CC) investigation into the £5bn private healthcare sector has come one step closer, after the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) found evidence that the market is failing patients.

The OFT has provisionally referred the market to the commission for further investigation after finding a combination of concerns which had ‘the potential to prevent, restrict or distort competition'.
