Olympics boost for local sport

Council chiefs have reported a surge of interest in local sports facilities following Britain's success at the 2012 Olympic Games.

Council chiefs have reported a surge of interest in local sports facilities following Britain's success at the 2012 Olympic Games.

The Local Government Association (LGA) today released research which found half of authorities had witnessed an increase in users of council sports facilities during the Games.
