MPs have urged the Local Government Ombudsman to improve its performance in providing redress for public complaints about local services.

In a report issued on 17 July, the Commons communities and local government committee expressed concerns the Ombudsman is taking too long to determine some cases, and demanded it sets strict deadlines for all cases it handles.
