The Scottish Public Service Ombudsman (SPSO) is going public with all its findings, in a bid to make councils more accountable.
Until recently the SPSO could only publish details about cases when it had carried out a full investigation, which could only be held after it found evidence of maladministration. But all cases are now classed as investigations and so can be made public. A spokesman said only eight cases were made public last year but under the new rules 24 have been published this month.
