Online tool helps residents assess likely care costs

Anton Hodge describes how a new online tool to help people assess the likely cost of adult social care services has brought benefits to residents and to North Yorkshire CC.

People tell us that being able to assess the options, cost and support of living independently in their own communities for as long as possible helps them feel more confident about their choices when they start to think about their care needs.

Often people think that moving into a care home is the only solution if they find living independently is becoming a struggle. They are often unaware of the range of social care services we offer to support people to continue to live independently in their own homes. People can also be unaware about what they might have to pay for the services they receive, depending on their financial circumstances.
