Call for co-operation to rein in 'chuggers'

The new chief executive of the Public Fundraising Regulatory Association (PFRA) has called for greater co-operation between councils and voluntary bodies in order to deal with ‘chuggers’.

The new chief executive of the Public Fundraising Regulatory Association (PFRA) has called for greater co-operation between councils and voluntary bodies in order to deal with ‘chuggers'.

Sally de la Bedoyere, who has joined the PFRA from the RSPCA, where she was director of income generation, said she was looking forward to working with other organisations to clarify how street fundraisers – often colloquially referred to as ‘charity muggers' or chuggers – should operate.
