Outgoing DCLG permanent secretary elevated to peerage

Outgoing permanent secretary for the Department for Communities and Local Government, Sir Bob Kerslake, is to be made a life peer upon his retirement from the civil service.

Outgoing permanent secretary for the Department for Communities and Local Government, Sir Bob Kerslake, is to be made a life peer upon his retirement from the civil service.

Sir Bob, who also served as head of the Civil Service during his tenure at DCLG, was knighted for services to local government in 2005 following service as chief executive at Sheffield City Council from 1997 to 2008 and Hounslow LBC from 1991 to 1997.
