The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has warned the Coalition's drive to implement its localism agenda across the public services is failing to demonstrate either probity or value for money.

In a progress report issued today into accountability for public money, the spending watchdog claims the Government's lacks coherence and clarity in its overall approach for localised services – such as academies and free schools, elected police authorities and NHS foundation trusts.
