Welsh spending watchdogs have cleared Pembrokeshire CC’s exit payment for former chief executive Bryn Parry-Jones – after reducing the final settlement by £52,760.

Welsh spending watchdogs have cleared Pembrokeshire CC's exit payment for former chief executive Bryn Parry-Jones – after reducing the final settlement by £52,760.

Mr Parry-Jones, who was Wales' highest-paid council chief executive, departed after two decades having become embroiled in controversy at the start of the year over cash payments made in lieu of pension contributions – a situation the Wales Audit Office (WAO) ruled unlawful.
