Leicestershire County Council's leader, Cllr David Parsons, breached the authority's code of conduct numerous times when he claimed expenses for European travel, bringing his office or authority into disrepute, independent investigators today reported.
At meeting today, beleaguered Cllr Parsons faced allegations, first raised in February, that he had failed to reimburse Leicestershire CC for expenses he received from the European Committee of the Regions for travel made on behalf of East Midlands' Councils. It was also alleged he failed to help the council conduct an internal audit.
