Sir Ian McKellen – who played Gandalf in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy – will join a charity walk from London to the Midlands.

Award-winning actor, Sir Ian McKellen – who played Gandalf in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy – will join a charity walk from London to author J R R Tolkien's homeland in the Midlands.

Sir Ian has long supported anti-homelessness campaigns and has teamed up with housing charity, Crisis, to help guide intrepid walking teams along the route in May.
