Pat will take chair

Former president of the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities,to be the new chairman of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

Pat Watters, former president of the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities, has been named as the inaugural chairman of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

Scotland's community safety minister, Roseanna Cunningham, said Mr Watters' local government experience would prove invaluable in the transition to the new service.
