Staff and councillors at Brighton and Hove City Council have been warned not to drink and tweet in 'patronising' new guidelines. The advice forms part of a 40-page document which hopes to keep officers and members out of trouble on their social media profiles.

Advice includes: 'Don't blog in haste, particularly in circumstances where your judgement might be impaired; for example if you have consumed alcohol'.Councillor Graham Cox told local paper, The Argus, it was ‘patronising that they have to issue advice'.
