Equal pay claims in Wales are a ‘real worry', with all local authorities facing ‘severe financial problems', according to WLGA leader, Derek Vaughan.
Speaking to the WLGA conference, he said solutions were being investigated. ‘In an effort to come up with something, the association will continue to have discussions with trade unions, and we will continue to lobby the Treasury to allow back-pay costs to be capitalised.' Cllr Vaughan added this was not the ‘full solution', but would help.
