Paying over the odds

Local authorities should plan their business based on robust, factual evidence, and if ever there was a statistic to highlight this, then I think I might have found it.

Research commissioned by the Regional Centres of Excellence has revealed huge variations in the amounts councils are being charged for the same item – up to a staggering 2,000% in some cases. One council is paying 20 times more than another for exactly the same thing.
