Newcastle City Council has been given a glowing review by the Local Government Association (LGA) months after a staff survey heard morale was ‘at rock bottom’.

Newcastle City Council has been given a glowing review by the Local Government Association (LGA) months after a staff survey heard morale was ‘at rock bottom'.

The LGA's corporate peer challenge said the Labour-run council had a ‘strong focus on addressing inequalities caused by the pandemic and tackling child poverty' and praised the ‘dedicated and passionate workforce'.
