Pension fund helps small businesses

One of the UK’s largest local government pension funds has agreed to provide up to £40m of finance to support small and local business ventures.

One of the UK's largest local government pension funds has agreed to provide up to £40m of finance to support small and local business ventures.

The £9.8bn West Midlands Pension Fund, which provides pension services to more than 260,000 current and former employees of the seven district councils in the region, has agreed to an investment partnership with venture capital company Finance Birmingham, which operates commercially for a wider social benefit.
