'Use pension funds to build homes' says FHC

According to the Future Homes Commission, local authority pension funds, could help to build 300,000 new homes every year.

Local authority pension funds could help build 300,000 new homes every year and tackle Britain's housing crisis, the Future Homes Commission (FHC) has reported.

The study, established by the Royal Institute of British Architects, calls on the largest 15 members of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) to pool 15% of their assets within an independently-managed £10bn local housing development fund.
