Pooling local government pension schemes into around six different funds could save up to £300m a year, according to a new report.

The report by Project POOL, a working group of 24 local authority funds and consultants Hymans Robertson, recommended about half a dozen multi-asset pools made up of between 10 and 12 pension funds.
