More people using personal budgets, say care bosses

The number of people using direct payments to fund care programmes has also increased - from 13.7% in 2011/12 to 16.4% in 2012/13.

More than half of all people and carers using council-funded care services now have self-directed support and personal budgets, according to the latest survey by town hall chiefs.
