Perception of local crime 'flatlines'

The proportion of people who believe high levels of anti-social behaviour blight their area has flat-lined at 14% over the last year, official figures suggest.

According to latest crime statistics released by the Office for National Statistics, there was no significant overall change in crime last year, a finding in line with recent trends indicating that levels have stabilised since 2004/05 - with recorded crime showing small year on year reductions.
