A dramatic rise in the number of councils allowing staff to ‘bring your own technology to work' threatens further data breaches, privacy campaigners have warned.

Concerns have been raised in response to findings from the Society for IT Management (SOCITM), which indicated that 90% of local authorities now permitted staff to use their own laptops, tablet PCs or smart phones to conduct council business.
