The shift to personalised care has led to a jump in the number of people employed in the adult social care sector, an annual survey has revealed.

Some 1.63 million people are now employed in a total of 1.85 million care roles, a 4.5% hike on last year's figures, according to The state of the adult social care sector and workforce in England 2012.
