Phillipson open to Government funding local grooming inquiries

Ministers have promised the Government will ‘take whatever steps necessary to keep children safe’ when asked if Whitehall would fund local inquiries into grooming gangs.

Ministers have promised the Government will ‘take whatever steps necessary to keep children safe' when asked if Whitehall would fund local inquiries into grooming gangs. 

Tory leader Kemi Badenoch had called for a national inquiry on grooming gangs but education secretary Bridget Phillipson said she though local inquiries were the ‘right way to do these things'.
