Communities secretary, Eric Pickles, is poised to take action over disproportionate cuts made to third sector groups in Nottinghamshire.

Speaking at yesterday's New Local Government Network (NLGN) annual conference, the new chief executive of the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action (NAVCA), Joe Irvin, said the communities secretary had told him he would write to Nottinghamshire CC over cuts to voluntary sector budgets.
