Peterborough City Council has blamed communities secretary Eric Pickles’ decision to call in applications for wind farms as one of the reasons why it now could abandon two renewable energy schemes.

Peterborough City Council has blamed communities secretary Eric Pickles' decision to call in applications for wind farms as one of the reasons why it now could abandon two renewable energy schemes.

The council's cabinet will receive a report next month recommending proposals to scrap two planned schemes – one wind and the other solar – because of changes to national planning guidelines and continuing funding uncertainties.
