Pickles to block supermarket tax

Communities secretary Eric Pickles has announced he will not support extra business rates on supermarkets and large shops.

Communities secretary Eric Pickles has announced he will not support extra business rates on supermarkets and large shops.

Mr Pickles said today he will block attempts by local authorities under the Sustainable Communities Act to impose extra levies on such stores.
