Communities secretary, Eric Pickles, has vowed to assist the voluntary sector with a social responsibility deal.

The proposal has asked councils to give support to local community groups by councils giving three months' notice of funding cuts, working with groups on their futures, and ‘seeking to avoid disproportionate reductions' to the voluntary sector.
