Pickles calls on sector to bring sunshine back to coast

Communities secretary, Eric Pickles, wants charities and social enterprises to play a key role in rejuvenating ailing seaside towns.

Mr Pickles last week announced that the £24m Coastal Communities Fund would invest directly in projects designed to reinvigorate moribund coastal towns and cities – through investment in traditional seaside assets, apprenticeships, workspaces or small-scale local transport improvements.
