Communities secretary Eric Pickles has insisted his proposed Government intervention package for Tower Hamlets LBC will be a ‘rare occasion'.

Mr Pickles was speaking in the House of Commons today after a damning report by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) inspectors criticised the council's governance arrangements.
