Communities secretary Eric Pickles has attacked undergraduates at Cambridge University over local government funding during a debate.

Mr Pickles had been invited to a debate at the university, where anti-cuts demonstrators were gathered outside the Cambridge Union, protesting against policies implemented by the county council, such as cutting bus subsidies by 100%.
