Pickles urges 'bold' use of community budgets

Communities secretary Eric Pickles today urged councils to be 'daring', 'bold' and ready to break the rules in using community budgets to deliver better services with less money.

Communities secretary Eric Pickles today urged councils to be 'daring', 'bold' and ready to break the rules in using community budgets to deliver better services with less money.

Speaking at a conference organised by the DCLG and the Local Government Association in central London, Mr Pickles told the sector to be as ‘daring' as possible in reshaping public services to make a difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in society.
