Pickles vows to cut paid union officials

Two Cabinet ministers – including local government secretary, Eric Pickles – have promised to cut back 'taxpayer-funded' public sector union officials.

Two Cabinet ministers – including local government secretary, Eric Pickles – have promised to cut back ‘taxpayer-funded' public sector union officials.

Speaking at the Conservative Party conference in Manchester, Mr Pickles attacked council ‘taxpayer-funded full-time trade union officials' which, he said, cost £250m a year.
