It says a lot about the state of the country when British people think Piers Morgan is more trustworthy than their local councillor.

But this is the reality we're living in, apparently, for, according to a study from the Hansard Society think-tank, the British public appear to have more trust that television broadcasters will act in the interests of the public than local councils.
