A plan to solve homelessness

After ministers were this week questioned over government action on homelessness, Poppy Terry explains how benefits, prevention and housing must be targeted to support those most in need.

On Monday, Government ministers appeared before the Communities and Local Government Select Committee to answer questions on what their departments are doing to tackle homelessness.

The evidence session was part of the committee's enquiry into homelessness. The first of its kind for 10 years, this inquiry presents an important opportunity to take stock of what is driving homelessness in this country and what government can, and should, do to combat it.
