Plans to make 100% business rate retention work have kicked off with the inaugural meeting of the joint central and local government business rates steering group.

The joint Local Government Association (LGA) and Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) group will consider what to do when councils face a sudden drop in cash so they can no longer deliver services.
