Plans for London parishes are 'misguided'

PlanPlans in the White Paper to bring back parish councils in London have been slammed as ‘misguided'.

London Assembly chairman, Brian Coleman, said: ‘This is a misguided idea. It's a classic example of New Labour madness.' And chairman of London Councils, Merrick Cockell, warned any new parish councils could become ‘hijacked' by extremist groups, which would have implications for local democracy.
