Children in Hackney LBC are set to ‘reclaim the streets' thanks to a groundbreaking plan to close key roads in the borough to traffic – turning them into playgrounds.

Hackney claims to have become the first borough in London to introduce temporary play street orders, allowing parents to apply to the council to close their street for a few hours per week or month.
